The Icelandic horse has played a key role in the life of Icelanders from the beginning. In heathen times the horse was highly regarded and renowned in Norse mythology.
Taking a round trip up to Snafellsnes peninsula can often be rewarding. This trip did, of the many images I shoot this day this one was special. This horse was aloe in this fence and he just stood there and I thought he might be sleeping because he did not show any interest to come walking to me. So I shoot this image before I walked to him. When home I saw the moon high in the image and when I had worked on the image in B&W I felt the mood was mythical as in the Norse mythology and the horse was just waiting to be transform into a Horse of Wildness Sleipnir.
